As mentioned yesterday, I made a visit to the National Gallery of Canada, and today I start the series. Here we have a view out the window of the glass tower towards Parliament Hill. Fog was starting to roll in.
This view looks down the long ramp towards the main entrance.
The temporary exhibit entrance is seen here.
And a look up at the ceiling of the glass tower.
Uninvited: Canadian Women Artists In The Modern Moment is the exhibit currently underway, featuring work by Canadian women, primarily from the 1920s-40s. It features art from both the Gallery's collection and other galleries across the country.
We start with Tree, a 1935 painting by Isabel McLaughlin.
The Riverman, Frenchy Renaud is by Yulia Biriukova, dating to 1935.
Another painting by Biriukova, here we have Portrait Of Mrs. Carl Schaeffer (nee Lillian Evers), a 1933 painting.
Prudence Heward painted At The Theatre in 1928.
What a beautiful museum! The glass tower roof is stunning. It is also nice to see an exhibit dedicated to women artists.
