Today we start with two portraits that seem to be always hung together. Mrs. John Beverley Robinson is an 1845 oil painting by George Berthon.
This is Miss Amelia Boddy, an 1845 portrait by John Bell-Smith.
Allan Edson painted Landscape With Cascade in 1872.
His teacher, Robert S. Duncanson, painted Owl's Head Mountain in 1864.
This dramatic work is Sunrise On The Saguenay, Cape Trinity, an 1880 canvas by Lucius R. O'Brien.
Another work by O'Brien, done in 1882: Kakabeka Falls, Kamanistiquia River.
The Artist Painting Queen Victoria is by Frederic Bell-Smith, from 1895.
The Studio is by Cornelius Krieghoff, circa 1845.
All are surreal. Love the last painting the best

DeleteDebe de ser un tanto pesado posar y estar tanto tiempo quieta, mientras el célebre pintor dibuja su figura y la plasma en el lienzo.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteJohn Beverly Robinson was said to be an ancestor, but when I checked, he isn't. We are ordinary folk over here. 😎

Yes it is.
DeleteMrs. Robinson was very pretty. I like the portraits but my favorite of those (apart from Mrs. R) was the painter doing the Queen. And those are handsome landscapes.
