Here we have a look at the two pieces of equipment from yesterday- a horse drawn riding plow and a mid-century riding tractor.
Above us in the hayloft, something called a windlass, which comes in handy for the lifting of heavy objects.
Another look at that tractor.
A better sense of farming practices developed out of the establishment of agricultural colleges and experimental farms.
Today's farmer is likely to use up to date equipment, including drones and computer access as part of their routine.
The hayloft is certainly solidly built.
These views reminds me about the museum at the agricultural college near me. A very old two-story building. Nice to see.
ReplyDeleteWell worth photographing.
DeleteLove the old machineries
ReplyDeleteMe too.

DeleteGreat exhibit and tour of the barn! Take care, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI have a friend with an old barn where the equipment is pretty much intact.
ReplyDeleteA rare sight these days.
Delete...a hayloft is a thing of the past!
ReplyDeleteIn some ways.
DeleteNice exhibition.
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
DeleteThat little tractor looks more appropriate for gardening than farming. I see the horse drawn plow painted in John Deere colors. Love your last photo showing the beam construction of the barn.
ReplyDeleteIt is a small tractor.
DeleteTimes have changed on farms just as everywhere else.
ReplyDeleteTrue.
DeleteThe riding tractor looks like a home made job.
ReplyDeleteIn some ways, yes.
DeleteOh awesome scenes from inside the hayloft ~ thanks,
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,
