Today happens to be my five hundredth post. I thought I'd mark the occasion with this detail shot of Alex Janvier's mural Morning Star at the Museum of History. For those of you dealing with that winter storm, you could use some colour.
And the number five hundred brings to mind this song.
That'll stay in your head all day.
You're welcome.
One of my party favourites! Congrats on the milestone, a mesmerising post.
ReplyDeleteLike a kaleidoscope of colours. Or a catherine wheel. Congrats on the blogger milestone.
ReplyDeleteNice work William.. 500 is no mean feat. Love the colour and yes dadadada... it's now well and truly in my head :)
ReplyDeleteThe music very well!
ReplyDeleteThat you make a hundred thousand posts more!
Tomás.
Congratulations!

ReplyDeleteUm abraço
Congrats with your milestone, the photo is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHey - well done! And congratulations on a great blog. I don't know what it is about that particular Proclaimers number, but mostly everyone loves it. I'm going to work hard to get 'Sunshine on Leith' into my head!
ReplyDeleteLove the color wheel and the brilliant song. Most of all, I love learning about Ottawa from you.
ReplyDeleteJanis
500 and counting. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you! Lucky us, we get to enjoy the fruit of your labor.

@Peter: it's such a fun song, after all.
ReplyDelete@Gemma: Mr. Janvier is a First Nations artist, and such a good one.
@Grace: it has that way of taking hold in the mind, after all.
@Tomas: thanks!
@Andy: given that some bloggers have been doing this for years, five hundred posts doesn't seem that much!
@Gracita: thank you!
@Marianne: it's one of my favourite works of art in this area.
@Mike: it's an addictive tune, but in a good way.
@Janis: thank you!
@Revrunner: with 1000 to come sometime next year!
@Merisi: thank you!
@Marleen: it'll take awhile.
@Sharon: and it sounds good live in concert too.
@Jane and Chris: it'll take all day and you'll still be singing "I would walk five hundred miles"....
congrats on #500! love the art, too. and i knew what song it was before i went to the video, but i'm glad i played it. love that and love how 'average bloke' those fellows are and yet they are rock stars. :)

Congratulations with this colourful milestone, William.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on that milestone ! I love that mural.
ReplyDeleteLike your perseverance. Can always count on you for an interesting photo or three, and for a comment.
ReplyDeleteYes, that will cure the "Winter time Blues." I couldn't name one public art gallery hee. we have lots of small private galleries which are actually shops.
ReplyDeletePS. Congratulations on your 500th post!
ReplyDeleteVery colorful!

ReplyDeleteCongrats on your 500th post! That is an achievement.
ReplyDeleteLove this bright spot of color.
I didn't click on the link, but I am guessing it's that "I would walk 500 miles..." song.
I remember when you first showed this wonderful piece! Congrats on the 500th post.
ReplyDeleteJe ne sais pas si c'est très approprié pour l'occasion mais j'ai envie de te souhaiter un bon anniversaire !
ReplyDeletePerfect William. Thank you, you know how much I love this (and bravo for the 500th!)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on #500! I love this piece of art.
ReplyDeleteGood, bad, or indifferent...I'm going to resist listening to the the link you've posted. I'm too susceptible to ear worms...
that is wild. i love all the cheerful-ness it does have!! cool times. we had a bit of snow Tuesday - & it was pretty much gone that evening. so not cool in my book. i want to be drenched with snow? i am not happy but oh well times go on. ( :
ReplyDelete@Cloudia: well, it's not a Justin Bieber ear worm. I could never be so cruel.
ReplyDelete@VP: will do!
@Tamago: I could have easily chosen that for the upcoming theme day!
@Pamela: a lot of areas got hit pretty hard!
@Country Gal: we'll probably get more snow too.
@Halcyon: the song is one and the same!
@RedPat: it's such a good piece to show again.
@Anna: before you know it, you'll be getting up to that milestone.
@Ciel: I expect every time I go into that museum, I'll photograph that mural.
@Kay: in this case it's a very good ear worm!
@Beth: the snow we've got on the ground will stay with us for a couple more months.
Congrats on #500, William, and for providing some color other than all the white we have seen in the past 24 hours here. I must be living in a cave as I had never heard of The Proclaimers before but have heard the song before. And, yes, it did stay with me after hearing it!
ReplyDeleteHuge number. Since I haven't seen this in the group, I'll mention that I have Tweeted here.
ReplyDeleteLove the color! Congrats and thank you. I knew I shouldn't have clicked on that link!
ReplyDeleteHappy 500 Posts :-)

@Janis: I'll look it up!
@Randy: thanks!
@Linda: I can't get enough of this mural!
