I Proceeded On

We proceeded on is a term that repeatedly shows itself in the journals of the Lewis and Clark expedition. I had no choice but to proceed on as I headed for the end of my journey on Dow's Lake.

The skateway loop going up around the lake is divided by a swath of snow, occasionally topped with Christmas trees picked up for use at Winterlude.

A final view of Dunton Tower back at Carleton University.

Here is a first good view of H.M.C.S. Carleton, a Navy reserve station on the northwest side of the lake. The main building was completely rebuilt several years ago.

And a look back to the southeast from where I was at this point. This walk along the Rideau Canal ends tomorrow.

  4. Hello,
It looks like a winter wonderland, with the ice and the skaters. Our snow and ice have melted, after a few days in the 60-70's. Take care, enjoy your weekend!

  8. The skaters have a lot of space for themselves. Here the ice would be packed with people.
