Back into my series from the National Gallery of Canada. We begin today with Giulio Contarini, a bust by Alessandro Vittoria, circa 1570-76.
One sees much of the influence of Leonardo in this painting. The Christ Child And The Infant John The Baptist With A Lamb dates to the 1520s, and is by Bernardino Luini.
Bartolomeo Veneto painted Portrait Of A Young Lady between 1520-30.
We now step into one of the marvelous spaces of the Gallery, called the Baroque Room.
Here we see Landscape With A Woman Washing Her Feet, a 1650 work by Nicolas Poussin. We'll pick up with more from in here tomorrow.

Thank you.
DeleteThat’s a very bright color choice for the walls.
ReplyDeleteYes it is.
DeleteLove the one with the lamb. Funny but all the sculptures around the age of the one in the top photo always seem to be looking so serious.
ReplyDeleteSuch was the way.
