Lighting Up That Reindeer

Perhaps one of my Toronto area readers can say if the giant Christmas reindeer in the Eaton Centre are back again? This was taken last December.

  10. I'd call this one, "Reindeer on Fire". ps When lights aglow.

  11. Giant is an understatement! It's amazing what they can do with lights now.

  12. If it isn't there, it should be! Awesome!

  13. @Whisk: it is huge.

    @Luis: I can only imagine how long it takes to put together.

    @Lowell: there is a lot of open space in that mall.

    @Tex: I certainly thought so.

    @Stuart: yes, and big reindeer need lots of hay and carrots.

    @Norma: it's quite a construct!

    @Krisztina: it's different from anything I've seen here.

    @Birdman: I was going back and forth on what to title this blog. I tend to want to be creative with blog titles.

    @Sharon: thanks!

    @Red: it certainly is.

    @Judy: and it stands out so well.

    @Cheryl: time will tell. I haven't seen a response from a Toronto reader yet, but they'll come.

  16. I'm not in Toronto anymore, but I can't imagine that these reindeer wouldn't be up! They're a Christmas staple in T-town!

  18. Are you sure that isn't a giraffe with horns?

  20. What a giant, no wonder he arrived there before Santa ... ;-)

  21. Oh, my! That's a big Christmas statement. The people walking around it don't even look big enough to be elves.

  22. @Beth: I would think they'd do it overnight, and it would involve scaffolding.

    @Marleen: very different from a tree!

    @Halcyon: last year was the first time in a long time that I'd passed through there at Christmas time. I had no idea they were a tradition.

    @RedPat: that would make sense.

    @Ciel: definitely not!

    @Orvokki: it is massive.

    @Jan: makes you wonder how big Santa is.

    @EG: very big!

    @Kay: it dwarves them all.

    @Jennifer: it's quite a mall.

    @Shelly: I thought so!

    @Randy: definitely.

    @Hamilton: thanks for confirming it!

  23. An impressive and spectacular looking reindeer. Glad he's back. We had a wonderful display of animals at our local mall that looked like life-sized stuffed toys, but as close to the real thing as you could get. I used to look forward to them year after year, and then pfttt, no more. I was really disappointed when they didn't appear. What they replaced them with was not nearly as fun, in fact very boring in comparison. Your reindeer definitely is not boring.

  24. It's HUGE ! Great capture, William !

  25. @Denise: the reindeer like this one at one of our malls is more to scale.

    @Janis: it is!

    @Linda: I think so too.

    @Jen: very much so!

    @Karl: thanks!

    @Lisa: indeed!
