Here we have more of the ice sculptures in Confederation Park as they were in 2016.
Out in the park one day, there were stilt walkers and drummers. The walkers were on apparatuses that were influenced by birds. They made for a very photogenic sight. I find myself wondering, looking back on these, what little kids were thinking looking up at the walkers.
Other interactions: the ways of old being demonstrated with plates being branded by hot irons.
Handmade toys, some with a modern inspiration, hanging out.
And this moment just made the whole shot.
Interesting event to enjoy. I also marvel at the stilt walkers.
ReplyDeleteOnce again...stunning.
ReplyDeleteI used to be scared of the stiltwalkers when I went to the circus as a little lad!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like fun times back then - hope it will return like that...
ReplyDeleteI think children enjoyed it all. The last photo says it all!
ReplyDeleteBelas fotografias.

Stiltwalkers are very much used in Belgium for Carnival and folklore ! I tried it once when I was young of course, it's quite difficult ! The kids certainly had a lot of fun !
ReplyDelete@Nancy: I certainly do.
ReplyDelete@Italiafinlandia: indeed.
@John: I always found it impressive.
@Iris: I hope so too.
@Jan: it really does.
@Francisco: thanks.
@Gattina: I'd fall if I tried.

ReplyDeleteTake care, enjoy your day and have a great weekend!
How delightful.
ReplyDelete...a colorful winter celebration.
ReplyDeleteThe drummer speaks to a painting, the mix of people and poses. Based on my childhood at parades, awesome brain, as long as they don't get too close.
ReplyDelete@David: very much so.
ReplyDelete@Eileen: thank you.
@Anvilcloud: indeed.
@Tom: definitely.
@Maywyn: quite so.
You’re right about that last shot. Special!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the stilt walkers as birds. It's fabulous!
ReplyDeleteNice festival. I just saw stilt walkers twice in February at food festivals in my neighborhood.
ReplyDeleteThose are great stilt walkers.
ReplyDeleteThe ice carving of the skaters looks so fragile.
