A Splash Of Water
As I mentioned yesterday, there's a park behind Gatineau City Hall. At its heart is a large water feature with stained glass placed here and there to create an artistic effect. Rainbows can be found as one walks around it.
Beautiful, but as a desert person, I cringe with so much water going in the air. Yes, I realize it doesn't dehydrate there like in the desert, but it still looks wasteful to me. Tweeted.
That must be a beautiful place to wander around. Modern planners seem to be on some kind of commission for including water features; if so I approve.
ReplyDeleteThat's so neat! The color features are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI think it's wonderful, William. Those stained glass ornaments remind me of boats as we used to fold them from the newspaper as children.
ReplyDeleteVeeery beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMust make quite a lot of noise with all those pumps and geysers.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty fountain, the stained glass sculptures are beautiful.
Have a happy day and a great new week!
What a beautiful series.
ReplyDeleteI love folding those boats as tips or pressies (here the smallest is a 5er...some money to me).
A very pleasing addition to the city.
ReplyDelete...the stained glass looks like giant water lilies!
ReplyDelete@John: it is peaceful.
ReplyDelete@Maywyn: I agree.
@Jan: I can see that.
@Italiafinlandia: definitely.
@Revrunner: some noise.
@Eileen: thank you.
@Iris: I can't recall doing so here.
@David: that it is.
@Tom: they do.
These are lovely!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your walk around the fountains, and especially the stained glass lotus blossoms!
ReplyDeleteLove those boats, William.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous fountain.
ReplyDeleteThey really went out on this fountain. Very nice.
ReplyDeletewonder if that decorative fountain becomes a splash pad in the summer

@Catarina: only decorative.
@Carol: thank you.
@Mari: no, it just goes back into the pumping system.
@Bill: me too.
Outstanding, and I'm betting amazing in the evening too!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to see it sometime at night. I imagine if it's not been shut off for the winter yet, it soon will be.
DeleteI do like to see fountains, and I like the stained glass sculptures.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
