More of the large bas relief snow sculpture today marking the centennial of the RCAF.
Looking at it from further back reinforces how big it is.
This sculpture I couldn't really get a good look at- it was in an area being used for an activity. I am reminded of Canadian Shield rock- and it looks like there's a wolf family in there too.
Over beyond, options for a snack include Beavertails- that flat fried pastry that's a staple here, and covered with a variety of options.
A wall of snow here includes large sized photographs to mark the quarter century since the organization of Nunavut.
Back around the far side of the mound, with the line to go in seen here.
These sculptures are so lovely
ReplyDeleteThey are.
DeleteGreat displays! I've been tubing once long ago, it was fun! Take care, have a great day and happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Delete💜 the sculpture that reminds you of Canadian Shield rock along with what looks like a wolf! I have not knowingly seen a wolf in nature but have encountered many coyotes.
ReplyDeleteI've seen wolves, and heard them more often.
DeleteOh wow!
DeleteIt's quite an experience.
DeleteTwo iconic Canadian foods are beaver tails and poutine, both readily available where you live.
ReplyDeleteGreat foods, too!
DeleteBeaver tails…yummy! Though I have only tasted a bit of one! I swear! True story!
ReplyDeleteI need to get one before spring really takes hold.
DeleteInteresting exhibition of photographs. Never heard of beavertails.
ReplyDeleteThey're tasty.
DeleteThe snow must be an interesting medium to sculpt in. Mistakes could be easily fixed I guess.
ReplyDeleteFar more easily than ice sculptures.
DeleteThe snow hill would be absolute chaos if they didn't have strict control.
ReplyDeleteThey have to have that control.
DeleteFascinating fun in winter ~ and wonderful creativity ~ thanks,
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

You're welcome.
DeleteThat airplane is really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt is.
DeleteIt is incredible what Canadians can do with snow. 😊
ReplyDeleteAnd there was a lot of it.
DeleteWinter fun!
ReplyDeleteA lot of it.
DeleteAmazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteYou documented great ways to use snow. The snow sculptures are huge, and good they honor the RCAF.
ReplyDeleteI think so too.
DeleteI am reminded that the mobile beavertails truck is going to pay our town a visit in the near future. I can't remember when, though.
ReplyDeleteI have to get out to the one at City Hall. There's the permanent one in the Market, but they only do debit.
DeleteThe sculptures are lovely.
ReplyDeleteSuch a brilliant event.
All the best Jan
Thanks.
