Seventy Years The Queen Of Canada

It's been a tradition for some years to hang a series of display panels on the terrace below the Chateau Laurier on the way to Major's Hill Park. The theme changes by the year and usually these are put up in the summer and are taken down sometime in the fall. This year the theme was the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth as Queen, and her relationship with Canada. I took these shots a couple of weeks prior to her death. Chronologically they follow her from time as Crown Princess to her last Royal Tour in Canada in 2010.

  3. I am not a monarchist but I think there was universal appreciation of the queen as a person. I shudder to contemplate Charlie's picture plastered everywhere and I hope we take this opportunity to have CANADIANS on our currency etc. Terry Fox would be a good start.

  9. A great lady who is missed. I have a photo taken back in 1956 of the Queen reviewing the RAF in Wallingford my dad took me along to see her when I was about 4 and, in the photo, you can see the two of us at the back with me on Dad's shoulder. I saw her again when she opened the facility, I worked in. One of those things you will always remember
