Grief Incarnate

Walter Allward's design for the Vimy Memorial is powerful, with its allegorical figures united in a sense of profound loss and mourning. Seeing the original half scale models is always haunting.

This look back up the stairs in Regeneration Hall includes the painting I showed yesterday, and a hint of things to come.

This is a model of the Memorial.

The remainder of the set are grouped together.

  19. It was the war to end all wars. No one remembered to do that.
